Wildland Firefighting
HFD is a cooperating agency with the State of Arizona to send resources to wildland fires throughout the country. Our program has been running strong since the Dude Fire in 1990. Members of the department have fought fire in Arizona, California, Texas, New Mexico, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado and Washington.

Wildland Medical Resources
HFD was recently awarded a grant from the Ak-Chin Indian Reservation for a Medical UTV transport unit. It is also contracted to respond for medical support on wildfires. We also utilize this in district when people are having an emergency in the surrounding forest.
Employment
We are always looking for seasonal employees for our wildland program. If you are certified in wildland firefighting click below to complete an application for us.
